Information Technology
Information Technology or pronounced as I.T refers to anything that related to computing technology, such as networking, hardware, software, the Internet, or the people that work with these technologies. As day by day, the technology had become more sophisticated and we can see many people nowadays include technology in their daily life whether for works or social activity. Source

Information Communication Technology
ICT which stands for Information Communication Technology consist of a product that will store, retrieve, manipulate, transmit or receive information electronically in a digital form. Usually ICT ends up in business, political processes, global economy as well as education. Personal computers, digital television, email, robots can be categorized as ICT. Source

Computer Mediated Communication
Communicative transaction that occurs through the use of two or more networked computers can be defined as Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC). The term has traditionally referred to those communications that occur via computer-mediated formats such as instant messages, e-mails and chat rooms. This communication are divided into two which is asynchronous (not simultaneous) such as emails, which allows each participant to compose messages at their time and pace, or in can be synchronous or real time. The example of a synchronous communication is like instant messages and chatting where the recipients can get the messages on that time (no delay).

Internet
Internet is a computer network that spans the globe. Basically, internet consists of millions of computers that are physically connected. To get connected, people need wires, cables or satellite connections. The purpose of internet is to send information from one computer to another.

Netiquette
Before we know the definition of netiquette, we need to know of what does it mean by netizen. Netizen is a term to those who live, work and spend time on the internet. It came from the word of net and citizen. So, being a Netizen, one must follow certain rules and courtesies, just as normal human being. That is where netiquette came from where it is an etiquette guideline for netizen posting messages to online services.

When surfing the Internet, you must follow certain standard to communicate with others. Since no one owns the Internet, netiquette is basically a mixed of common sense and courtesy.

  1. Do not capitalise everything because it will look as if you are shouting at people.
  2. Criticism is not accepted since it is hard to interpret people’s mind over the Internet; where sometimes people meant to say otherwise.
  3. Avoid humour with people you did not know because some people might not understand the jokes at all. Instead of that, you can use emoticons such as :) = happy, :( = sad, :D = big grin, :P =cheeky or :0 = surprised.
  4. Do reply quickly as people will expect to receive a reply within a day. E.g: Email
  5. Multiple recipients. Make sure you do not send secret emails to a group of recipients. You would probably send them to the people that you do not want them to know the contents of the emails.

Do not express your angry or dissatisfaction when you use internet where all people can know about it.

Web Browser
Web browser is software that used to view or browse the Web (retrieving, presenting, and traversing information). There are many types of web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Netscape, Safari and Opera.

Best Web Browser that most people use.

Navigating the web
After open a web browser, there are few ways to navigate the website. You can reach the specific web that you want by typing the URL of a web page in the location box (also known as the address field) of your web browser and then pressing the Enter or Return key. You also can navigate web by clicking a text link or clicking a hyperlinked graphic, such as a button, photograph, or drawing.

To browse for information, you can use three methods which is Web Directory, Search Engine and Usenet. Web Directory is a site that stores lists and lists of Internet sites, a bit like the ‘A – Z’ guide. You can select the category that best describes the information you would want to view. Examples of Web Directories are http://dir.yahoo.com and http://search.looksmart.com.

In the other hand, search engine is a website that has access to an incredible large index of websites right across the network. Unlike web directory, search engine does not categorize websites, instead it provides a textbox for you to enter your search. Popular search engines are Google, Yahoo, AltaVista and Ask.com.

Meanwhile Usenet is one of the most active part of Internet, contains Newsgroup. It is a collection of Bulletin boards that people use to ask questions and post their opinions. Examples of Usenet are Binbot, BinTube, GrabIt and Lotus Notes.

Example of Search Engine; Google.

That's all for now then. Thank you and have a nice day :)
